YoursFlora started with a simple frustration: most gardening advice online is either too vague to use or buried under so many pop-ups that you give up before you find the answer. We wanted a place where you could find out why your monstera’s leaves are yellow, what to plant this month, or which plant to give your mom, in a couple of minutes, explained like a friend would explain it.
What we do
- Plant care guides for houseplants, flowers, vegetables and herbs, written in plain English with real numbers: how much light, how often to water, how deep to plant.
- Free tools like the Plant Doctor, Gift Finder and Soil & Mulch Calculator that give you an answer for your plant, your space and your situation.
- Honest buying guides that compare products on what actually matters, including the downsides.
We write for home gardeners in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, and we note where advice changes by climate or season.
How we work
Every guide is researched against trusted horticultural sources, including university extension services, botanical gardens and the ASPCA plant toxicity list for pet safety. We update articles when we learn something new or when advice changes, and the date at the top of each article shows when it was last updated.
When we recommend products, we look at specifications, materials, how long they last, how easy they are to use, and what thousands of owners report in their reviews. We tell you who a product is for and who should skip it. You can read more in How We Choose Products.
How YoursFlora is funded
YoursFlora is free to read. We earn money in two ways: ads shown on the site, and affiliate commissions when you buy something through our links to stores such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy and eBay. This costs you nothing extra and never decides what we recommend. Full details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
